First tip is to make sure you're fresh because to get the most out of this you'll be on the go all day.
Starting out with the activities included in the plus package. The lazy rivers were tremendous fun and very relaxing. One of which goes past the manatee enclosure though the ria maya was probably my favourite. The zoo part - highlights included the dolphin s, turtles and the aviary. Lunch was fantastic (we ate at the international buffet).
The best part of the day was the evening show. I was genuinely surprised at how enjoyable, exciting and well put together it was without giving too much away, the mayan games and the birdmen were the highlights along with all the music!
For the extra paid activities, there were many great options. We chose to swim with the nurse sharks. I thought we'd just be snorkeling above them. I didn't realise they were trained, we were able to pet them while they sat on our lap!
The transport was on time and getting back on the bus and to the hotels after the last show was over was very slick!
Big shout out to Antonio for all the information he gave us on the way to the park.
Highly recommend this!
Excellent Trip with bus, dolphins, photos, and dinner show!
We've visited before but without the kids, this time we brought them with us. Booked directly with Xcaret in advance for the discount. Included transportation. The bus arrived early, the driver was great, then we bought some add ons with Carlos Mis at the entrance (he was awesome too). The entire experience was great! We were able to see the entire park plus do the Dolphin swim (however you don't actually get to swim with it unless you paid an extra $25 per person which to me was a rip off since you only rode it once - so I don't recommend doing Dolphins with them as you can do this much cheaper with more included for same price in Florida) then we bought the dinner with the show at the end of the tour. The food was great, different, but also filling. We found the bus easy and they had many employees there to assist you when departing. Nice ride back to the hotel and a great nap. Highly recommend!!! I call it Outdoor Disney. PS. The photo package is worth it. Please bring cash if you book the dinner. Those boys worked their butts off up and down those stairs to serve people and deserve a good tip for sure. The only ATM is at the entrance, so get cash there (in pesos) right after you buy the dinner. It broke my heart to see how many people didn't tip or know about this. They should honestly automatically charge a tip for them, they deserve it!
Best Tours in the Mayan Riviera
Xcaret group it’s a great company! transportation very clean and disinfected buses. All staff wearing masks when it wasn’t mandatory they offered disinfectant gel for all boarding passengers. Tour guide 100% bilingual (some of them are hilarious) they explained things to you so well you can’t get lost even though there’s multiple buses going to different tours they all make sure you get on the right bus and arrive safely to your destination place. Everyone is very nice and polite everything is very clean. Taking tours in the Mayan Riviera with them could make your experience more enjoyable
Left On Our Own
We purchased this tour because our young child would enjoyed a waterpark. The tour co we selected I would NOT recommend which we booked from the hotel concierge. The ratio of the group was predominantly Spanish speaking and the tour team tailored the explanations more to the Spanish tourists than English tourists. When he translated the info to English, he explained that he will give us more details when we get to Xcaret park. The park was packed and after we got our tickets, the group dispersed on their own and we didn't get any additional info about the park and what to do first to save us time. This was to our detriment because we thought the entire park was open until 9:30 pm. WRONG. Xcaret funnels everyone to the night show and closes everything else by 5:30 p.m. We wanted to ride the river last and did not make it to the cutoff time so we were stuck to wait for the night show to end. The theater was so pack and hot that we did not want to sit for a couple of hours in there.
The night show was ok based on the 10 minutes I saw trying to get seats (catch the highlights in YouTube and save the money). After the show, you catch the bus at 9:45 pm. Again, the tour guide said he will be at our meeting place to catch the bus and he was not there. We searched for our bus # on our own to get back to our resort.
I'm giving this place 4 ratings because we enjoyed ourselves despite the tour guide. If you ask me which Extra Activity I would purchase, I highly recommend the Sea Trek. It was a short activity underwater but you see all the fish and touch a sting ray. I would not pay extra for the night show as mentioned and catch the 4:30 bus back to your hotel and enjoy the rest of your evening. Choose a better tour co. Cheers.
Beautiful place! I do not recommend to go with infants or toddlers. The last show is beautiful, but it needs to interact more with the public.
Also, pics with the dolphins are very expensive.
