Once in a lifetime experience with added luxury

We had an awesome experience on the Express tour of Chichen itza! Victor was brilliant with his enthusiasm and excellent knowledge of this special archeological site. He used interactive exercises and was funny which kept us very engaged.

We felt we were well looked after and felt in good hands by both Victor and Ramon. Also was great to go to the Mexican village of Piste afterwards and experience local cuisine with dancers! And a cold beer for the journey back! Recommend travellers go to the souvenir shop in Piste if it’s on offer! We nearly bought the whole shop and couldn’t resist the cool items which were far cheaper than at our resort hotel in Akumal.
Awesome history— Sergio was the best guide!

First of all, book this adventure through cancun adventures! it was totally awesome and worth it but wasn’t an extremely full day to where you get back super late to your hotel.

we were picked up around 7am at our hotel and drove to pick up a few other people then started our journey to Chichen Itza. The drive was about 2.5 hours from Rivera Maya/Cancun area and though the drive was long, our tour guide, Sergio talked to us the whole drive about what we were going to see and the history and facts of it all. I found this super helpful so when we got to the place, we knew a lot of information already and we had enough time to take in the beauty of all the ruins without having to stop as much! Our guide Sergio was the friendliest and most knowledgeable guide EVER! He was seriously so awesome and made it fun to learn about everything especially for someone who doesn’t love history as much as my husband hahah.

The tour gave you about an hour of free time to explore whatever you wanted around the property (including a cenote!). There were tons of vendors trying to sell goods to you for great prices but Sergio warned us to only buy from vendors that were hand making the items there in front of you so you know it’s authentic!

After the ruins, we went to a local souvenir shop and restaurant for lunch. The food was absolutely delicious, however, i don’t think it sat in my stomach all that well the next day. We got some tequila and other little souvenirs before heading back to the hotels!
One of the seven wonders of the world with experienced guide and driver!

We booked our excursions through Go majestic (at majestic elegance Costa mujeres). We were offered buy 2 get 1 free, which was great, seeing as they are pricey excursions.
We highly recommend cancun adventures because they are an extremely safe, knowledgeable and experienced company. We felt very looked after and it was very organised.
Be aware that if you’re up north near costa mujeres, you’ll be picked up at like 6am because you’ll be the first pick up. It was then about 3 and 1/2 hours to pick up other people, meet in cancun and pick up some more people, and then get to Chichen Itza! But all of the popular Mayan cities are just far away from Costa mujeres so that can’t be helped.
Once at Chichen Itza, we got a very thorough tour! And then you get time to yourself to buy souvenirs and take pictures which was amazing. Our driver was Benji and our tour guide was Rafa. Rafa kept us informed the whole journey and was so lovely and so knowledgeable about the Mayan culture. I knew nothing about the mayans and learnt so much from Rafa.
After, we got driven to a local restaurant down the road to have some local food (a like lemony chicken noodle soup, and then a paprika spiced chicken with refried beans, veg and rice). It was really great food! And the restaurant had some dancers doing a traditional dance which was lovely to see. There was then a gift shop.
Then, being in Costa mujeres, we travelled back to cancun to switch vans (they want you to get back to your hotel as quick as possible so they put you in a different van depending on where your hotel is). We then were of course the last drop off back home.
Overall, a really great trip (lasted from 6am till 4:30pm for us). We won’t return to Mexico so we wanted to see one of the seven wonders of the world - Chichen Itza - and we’re so glad that we did! Thank you Rafa and Benji!
Very knowledgable and hospitable.

Our tour guide, Ana, was so knowledgable and engaging. I found out so much about Mayan history from her! We were also so well looked after by Ana and Richard, the driver; water, beers, umbrellas and lunch at a local restaurant - all included in the price.
Chichen Itza Ruins Tour with Gaspar and James

Gaspar was our tour driver and he was excellent in safety and providing cold water and unbrellas. Very kind. James is quite a personality with his knowledge of all the sites to see. He listed everything on the site and even named the colors painted on the pyramid! Then he tested us on remembering the names. He is so involved in the Mayan history, the crafts, weapons, ruins and the cenote. His joyous jokes made the trip very happy for all!
