LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!

We had a great tour guide. Ek Balam was amazing. I love the gospel perspective. I love how they present interesting connections and similarities, but they leave conclusions to you. The cenote was very refreshing after being out in the heat at the ruins.

Glimpse into old Mayan culture
ChipOlsen, 18-11-2021
This tour was the highlight of our vacation to the Mexican Riviera.
We did this tour as we wanted to be able to climb on the Mayan pyramids. We also wanted the perspective of the Gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints added in to our history lesson on the Maya.
Those ideas were realized and so much more. If you want a glimpse of what the Mayan temples looked like 500+ years ago El Balam is perfect. There is a section on one of the pyramids that was unearthed a few years ago, and shows the Mayan artwork perfectly. It was unexpected, and wonderful.
Our tour guide did a perfect job of feeding us information on the Mayan culture, and letting us explore. Many references were made to scripture to tie into the culture and what we saw. It really was a great learning experience, and very enjoyable.
The BEST.

Cancun and the Riviera Maya are beautiful places in their own right, but having a guide who knows the area, shares its secret places and takes care of you, is definitely much better.
Alma's LDS Tours guides are super friendly, with a lot of knowledge. The ruins are impressive, in general all the service offered by Alma's LDS Tours is EXCELLENT. 10000000% recommended
