What To Expect

Chichen Itza
Chichen Itza is considered one of the 7 Wonders of the New World and you'll be able to enjoy this Mayan Archaeological Site with our Private Chichen Itza Tour.

Chichen Itza has beautiful buildings that still keep dozens of secrets about the knowledge that the ancient Maya possessed. Every building has a purpose, even the position and size they have, probably also have a purpose. This is the case of the Temple of Kukulcan, perfectly marking the equinoxes and summer solstice. Platform of Venus is another example of this, as the planet of the same name was, along with the Sun and the Moon, one of the most important planets to define ceremonies that ruled the lifestyle of the Maya. El Caracol or Observatory, allowed to carry a perfect score of the cycles of the moon, among other purposes, showed favorable dates for planting and harvesting, as well as the equinoxes and solstice.

Cenote Ik kil
With our Chichen Itza Tour you'll stop at this beautiful Cenote where you'll be able to jump in the fresh waters of the Yucatan Peninsula. You can also enjoy a meal at this place.

The Ik Kil Cenote is one of the most famous ones. In order to reach the water you have to climb down 26 meters. Swimming in the Cenote is a wonderful experience you will be raving about for a long time. You can even jump inside the turquoise waters from a higher platform. It has lots of tree roots hanging from the ground above to the water below. There are small black catfish swimming around you.

Valladolid is a charming colonial city in the centre of the Yucatan Peninsula. It is located halfway (two hours from each) between Mérida and Cancún. And you'll visit it in this Private Chichen Itza Tour.

In 2012, Valladolid was named "Pueblo Mágico" (Magic Town) because it is a Maya city with a special colonial flavor. This is where you will see the majority of the towns people still using the typical dress of the Maya, and the buildings around the Main Plaza painted pastel colors. Its colourful houses and haciendas make this colonial city one of the most iconic of the Peninsula. You will surely get a sense of the laid-back pace of life.

You should visit the Cathedral of San Servacio, located on the main place (built in 1545, destroyed in 1705 and rebuilt in 1706).

Memorable day with driver Ricardo!

My family enjoyed our tour to Chichen Itza, Ik Kill and Valladolid immensely! We requested a different pickup time than what was offered through the online booking system and the operator quickly confirmed that they were able to accommodate our wishes. Driver Ricardo pick us up at our hotel right on time. The van was clean and comfortable with good a/c. Ricardo shared a lot of interesting facts about the area as we drove to Chichen Itza and gave us some advice on how to best enjoy our time at the site. He gave us his personal cell so we could text when we were ready to leave. We had done quite a bit of research ahead of time about Chichen Itza so we elected not to hire a guide at the site. We spent an amazing four hours walking around looking at everything and taking pictures. It was an incredible experience but we were very hot as the morning went on. When we texted Ricardo to pick us up he was there very quickly and had a cooler full of ice cold drinks for us! We enjoyed those drinks VERY much! Next stop was a visit to Ik Kil cenote for a swim. Ricardo came up to the ticket booth with us to interpret as we don't speak Spanish and he wanted to make sure everything went smoothly. The swim was absolutely beautiful and very refreshing. We bought the cenote tickets that included a lunch buffet. The food was good and the buffet included one local Yukatan beer per person. We got the dark beer option...I can't remember the name but it was very good. After this we went to Valladolid for a quick visit. We got a type of dessert that's like a thin waffle wrapped with filling like a crepe called marquesitas in the central square. They have all sorts of filling options but we opted for the most popular one which was nutella, strawberries and cheese. Delicious! After that Ricardo drove us back to our hotel and we enjoyed more drinks. He told us a bit more about other areas of Mexico. It was apparent how proud he is of his country and culture and we felt very fortunate that he shared this with us. He also gave us some very useful advice about our plans for the upcoming days in Cancun. This tour was the most memorable day of our trip and I would highly recommend it to anyone. It was definitely more than just private transportation!
Convenient and friendly

We booked this private tour to pick us up at our hotel and take us to Chichen Itza for the day and back for four people. I was in touch with the company prior to, to arrange some specifics, including confirming pick up time and itinerary for the day. They were flexible and allowed us to map out the itinerary as we wished, which was perfect, since that's why I had chosen to book with them. On the day of, our driver Jose picked us up promptly at our hotel and drove us to Chichen Itza. He was super friendly and a really lovely driver. We did have one almost incident in the near beginng heading out of Playa Del Carmen as he was on his phone and a motorbike cut him off, which made it a bit slower to react, but overall the drive was mooth with him. He gave us ample time to explore Chichen Itza and made the journey easy. Thanks!

This is a one of a kind tour from Cancun Adventures. They picked us up right from the hotel and Brought myself and my husband to the site about 2 hours away. The ride was great! Gabby was hands down one of the best tour guides I've ever had and Freddy kept us on schedule, fed us and kept us safe for the whole journey. The site in itself was breathtaking and immense. Wear comfortable shoes and bring small Bill's because there are so many great local items to buy. The people at Chichen Itza are so friendly and the experience was one for the books. If you love history, this place is for you! Thank you again Gabby & Freddy for being so passionate, fun and knowledgable and for creating a memory that will last a lifetime.
Just a taxi service!

It was a nice day out but the driver never spoke English and was silent majority of the trip. Apparently water and beer is included but we only got six bottles of water between the eight of us only when we arrived on Chitzen Itza! When we questioned the guide he said that’s all the company provided him. Considering this is a 10hour trip in 36c + weather, go prepared with snacks and drinks for the travel. This is just a taxi service.
